What is a fitness battery

A fitness battery is a group of fitness tests that closely represent various physiological demands of your sport. Fitness batteries can be put in a group manner or individually depending on the sport demand profile.

Although it is more common to provide individual training programs for athletes, the standard approach for tests is to conduct the same battery across a squad. However given different positional demands with sports, it may be worthy of individualizing tests as well. The practitioner may well include standard tests with a squad for example, maximal strength, but there may be cases where different types of power are assessed (e.g. unloaded countermovement jump (CMJ), for one athlete versus a more extensive load profile for another). Each test must replicate the energy demands and movement patterns within a sport.
