Pre-participation physical examinations

Pre-participation physical examinations
• Allow the athlete to have the option to have the pre-participation
physical examination conducted by his or her general
practitioner or by an orthopedic surgeon.
• Parents/Guardians should consider the benefits of having their
athlete cleared for sports by their own personal physician
especially if the athlete has a known chronic health condition,
such as a heart condition, asthma, uncontrolled high blood
pressure, diabetes, or repeated concussions.
• All pre-participation physical examinations must be signed by a
physician.
• The physicians’ word is final on clearance to participate in
sporting activities.
• Keep all of the athletes’ pre-participation physical examination
